Things come to pass

I have no good way to start off this post. twURLa has been put on hold indefinitely. The “offical” reason is that we did not have ample resources to sustain the project.
Now onto some more fun stuff.

A new track I dug up from my hard drive. I have some more coming soon!

My thoughts on Fivebean

Fivebean logoFinding a cheap and good VPS provider is a hard task in its self. There were plenty of options, but they all had mixed reviews. Now for the price under $20, you get what you pay for. You think a $50 media temple plan would top what we found, but I beg to differ (I have had no experience with them so I am going on purely the knowledge that they are one of the best in the business). We found a small host that goes by the name of Fivebean, which offered dirt cheap plans. One was at $6 a month. Now there has to be a catch? Well there is none, as far as we can tell.

I can’t really comment on performance, but they are fast. I don’t have a comparison to compare them to, but they are faster that the last VS provider I used. (I don’t want to give a name because I don’t want to piss anybody off) When I signed up, everything was online within 2 minutes. Really. Credit Card processing took maybe 20 seconds, and VPS deployment took 52 seconds. Now that doesn’t really merit for a good host, but it gives a nice and warm fuzzy feeling.

Now, to the most important aspect of a webhost. Support. The support at Fivebean is just great. They just don’t give you a standard response, but they send you a personalized response. And they care about you as a customer. They will try and help you with your support question, and make your overall hosting experience a great one. Overall, they make you feel at hope. Best support ever. A++.

Overall, I am more than satisfied with Fivebean. I would recommend them over anybody for VPS. They are truly amazing, and the short time we have been with them, I have been blown away with their service.

2010

I am going to say it 010, but that is just me.

2010 is going to be an important year, going forwards and looking back.

Looking back, is just amazing. Look how far we have come. In almost every field, humanity has advanced. We now have smarter burning cars. Almost everybody has computers now, and so much more. IT is just amazing how far we have come, but that is not the best part. It is looking ahead.

There are so many things to look forward to in the next decade. Major advances in biofuels is one of the main things I’m looking forward to. Why? Because I think we (as humans) are destroying this world. This thought has been dwelling in the back of my mind for some time, but it was fully brought to light when I went to see Avatar. Now I am no going to do my review of that movie in this post, but the most powerful part was when Jake said something along these lines of loosing touch with their environment, and destroying their world. Now, I saw many of the events in the movie as actually happening, but that is for another blog post. There are so many tings I am looking forward to. I really don’t know what is the biggest one, but it will be cool to see how computers evolve. Also, I hope we will be moving into space, because I have always have nd will be utterly astounded ith anything related to space.

Will we have nanobots? Will we be able to embed a computer inside our brain? Will we be able to travel at or close to light speed? I can only wonder.

My new years resolutions
-Loose some weight
-Get my grades up by 5-10 points
-Get rid of AT&T

Happy New Year!

(The Lonely Island : Space Olympics Lyrics)
Reach for the stars!

You stand on a distant planet
Skyline of red plateaus
Strange air and vegetation
You’re a winner!

Welcome to the Space Olympics
The year Thirty Twenty Two
Take part in a grand tradition
Your name echoes in the holes of the universe!

Believe in yourself!
Take your game into outer space!

Every single galactic athlete
Needs a coded ID badge
Drug tests are mandatory
You’re a winner!

The Athlete’s Village is on Zargon
You all get a junior suite
We don’t cover incidentals
So keep your ass off the minibar!

You’re the best in the world!
Brace yourself ‘cause there’s no gravity!

You’re in the motherfuckin’ Space Olympics!

Let it be known by every nation
You’ll only get one meal a day
There was a bit of a budget SNAFU
And food funding is insufficient

We can’t really enforce a curfew
As there is no light or sound
Just one of the many problems
With hosting a sporting event in space.

Attention all athletes. There are minor scheduling adjustments.

Space Disc! Is totally cancelled.
Space Swords! Is totally cancelled.
Space Luge! Is also cancelled.
And all other events are pending!

Welcome to your Space Olympics
All the oxygen has run out
And someone who will not be named
Accidentally hit self-destruct

As you file to your escape pods
I’ll distract the alien hordes
And as I stare death in the face I know my sins will take me to hell.

You do it for the love
My love
And there ain’t no woman that could take your spot my love

Sit back. This will all be over in 10 years or so.

There has been more and more moments on shutting down file sharing websites, but it will come to pass. The reason for this is the people who run the government are more in tune to the louder voices. By that I mean, the people who have the cash. The power. By this I mean CEOs, Heads of Record Lables, etc etc. Now I know I sound of guy who wants to fuck the system. Tear it all down, burn it to the ground. But I just called it how I see it.
Now, in ten years, I think the system will have “flushed” out the old school people. Why? How? All the ld minded people will have eather died or retired. I am taking about the people who think the younger generation should respect their elders (which is true but that does not help my point), and are less raticle minded.
Now I think some of these law makers have the right idea, but some are just going overboard. You can never censor the Internet, because they way it is build. Yes, there will always be ways to get Ch1ld Pr0n. So get used to it. I think why this is happening because he law makers are taking a too prenatal role. So yea. I am saying that it is the parents job in blocking what the child has access to, not the government. I know this is happening down under, where the government is taking the approach of “you all are kids, so we will treat you like them.” There was this recent case, in where a kid would not get off his xbox so his mom called the cops. WTF? How incompetent can you be, that you can’t get your own kid off his xbox. It is not the government which should be trying protect the children, but the parents.

So the message here is this: Congress, stop trying to control something you can’t, and fix the 10% unemployment rate! You can’t control the Internet, so STFU and do useful stuff.

And did you here about MS Word? No more sales in the US. Great job Microsoft.
